We have been building, researching and caring for the Jewish Museum of Australia collection for half a century. At over 20,000 items, it comprises the largest repository of the Australian Jewish experience in the world.

Predominantly donated by the community, our collection includes historical and contemporary Judaica; fine art, photography and textiles; letters, diaries, documents and books; and everyday objects.

Each and every item tells a story – conjuring the lives of the people who made, used, collected or donated it.

For most importantly, our collection is a storehouse of memories to be preserved and presented so we might share what it means to be Australian and Jewish for many years to come

Image use policy: All images, audio and audio-visual material within the collection are owned by the Jewish Museum of Australia. If you wish to adapt, publish or redistribute content from the collection, please submit the application form attached to the image use policy document.
